Diane Connelly

Hi, my name is Diane Connelly and I was elected to the Board of Directors last August. My family and I have been coming to Woodhaven since the late 70s and became Property Owners in 1984. Woodhaven became our retreat from the busy city life, our quiet peaceful place to spend family time together. I have seen many changes over the years but Woodhaven continues to be that special happy place for more and more families every year.

I can’t believe at this time last year I was campaigning for a seat on the BOD. I remember being at the amphitheater listening to the band. I stood up and turned around to see what seemed like the entire campground assembled there. I realized at that moment, that if I was elected to the BOD, every decision I would make for the next 4 years would affect every Property Owner in some way. It was very humbling but also very terrifying! I promised myself, if elected, I would remember that moment every time I am asked to make a decision as a member of your Board.

I also serve as the chairperson of the Communication Committee. The members of this committee are responsible for writing articles for the Woodhaven News. These can be answers to frequently asked questions, helpful tips, friendly reminders, recent rule changes, or basically anything the committee thinks would be of interest to the membership.

Things are constantly changing and improving around the park. New docks, improved parking lots, paved path at the open market, new staff vehicles, new equipment at the store, the new boat house at the beach, and the list goes on and on. I don’t think there is a better campground anywhere!

The new Deer Management Ad-Hoc Committee met in June to introduce the members of the committee and explain the purpose of the committee. The next meeting was set for July and a Townhall meeting will be held in August. The committee will continue to gather information and relay that to the Board and Property Owners.

Our “Main Event Weekend,” which is kind of our yearly anniversary party, is just around the corner. Events include a Kickoff Party on Friday night at the Pavilion and a Wine & Cheese social at the Lakeview Building. Saturday is the Open Market, Farmers Market, Food Fair, Band and Fireworks. Sunday is the annual Car Show. Check out this edition of the Woodhaven News and the Leisure Times so you don’t miss out on any of the fun.

If you see me around property, please stop and say hi! There are so many new owners and I would love to meet all of you.

Don’t forget the Annual Membership Meeting and Board of Directors Meeting at the Rec Plex Multi-Purpose Room on Sunday, August 27th.
